Coach/Convenor

How does the coach commission work?
This is still under consideration and may be paid depending on the profitability of each division. If a division establishes a profit, then 50% of that profit will go back to the centre based on the number of their players who participated. If no profit is created within a colour ball division, then no commission will be paid.
What is a Curtain Raiser event?
These events are held for all players within each EPC Association. They are set up so that players from all those local associated clubs, centres, and schools can play and get rated. This helps in better grading for future inter-club competitions, resulting in more competitive matches. These are run in the term prior to commencing the interclub competition.
What do we need to do to enter players from our Centre into an Open EPC?

Just email the promo flyer or direct them to the website.

How do we register our players?

You simply email out the email template to your players here. They can then sign up via the EPC website. Until we build the bulk upload of players function, players will need to be manually linked to your organization. If a player enters into an Open EPC event, they are automatically registered onto the EPC platform.

Which venue gets to host the Curtain Raiser EPC events?

Any club, school, or centre can host Open EPC events. When new associations are getting started, the venue with the most available courts will be preferred.

How is an Open EPC Event different from a Curtain Raiser Event?

An Open EPC event is promoted to all players on the EPC App, and all revenue (less 10%) goes to the hosting venue. A Curtain Raiser event aims to get players from within the newly formed association to play so that all players can get an EPC score. The Curtain Raiser events are a precursor to inter-club/school/centre competition being established the following term.

Who can host an Open EPC event?

An Open EPC event can be hosted by any Centre, Club, or School provided they hold an EPC licence.

How do you set the starting score?

You can give your players a starting EPC or simply start them at the midpoint score of whatever colour ball they are playing in. For example, an orange baller would start with an EPC score of 150, while a stronger orange baller can start at 180.

How much does an EPC licence cost?

See link to SAAS Agreement here.

How do I grade my players?

Simply have a look at the Grading video which is in the App or on the website (www.epcsports.au).

How does an event work? Do I need to then add players into pools?

An event can be as simple as a single match, a group of matches, a round robin pool, or multiple pools. You can use the platform to support any format.

How do I create a pool?

Simply follow the steps in the EPC platform.

What does ‘Starting EPC score’ mean?

Starting EPC is an estimate made by your parent or coach. If not provided, the player’s starting EPC score will be the midpoint of their division in their first competition (e.g., Red would be 50, Orange 150, etc.).

When can I move up a level?

Once a player has progressed to the top 10 percentile of their current colour ball level, they have the option to enter the next colour ball level above at any EPC event. How does an EPC Sports Player Rating help me?

The EPC player rating system allows players, parents, and coaches to track progress, navigate through the coloured ball levels, and select players into teams and divisions with accuracy and objectivity.

Why EPC and not UTR for junior players?

EPC offers a more stimulating tournament format for juniors with more games, different opponents, shorter matches, and similarly skilled opponents. The algorithm is performance-based rather than age-restricted.

How is EPC linked to UTR?

EPC covers red, orange, green, and yellow ball levels. A player is ready to transition from green to yellow level when they achieve an EPC score of 300, roughly equivalent to a UTR score of 3.

What are the different coloured ball levels?

Red Ball Level: Entry level on a quarter-sized court with a 25% compression ball.
